
Several ACES help Loyalsock win 2025 PIAA AAA State Title
The Loyalsock Township High School girls' basketball team achieved a historic milestone by securing their first-ever Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) Class AAA state championship. The Lancers triumphed over Shady Side Academy with a 55-43 victory at the Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
Previous and current ACES Alaina Dadzie, Julie Ellis, Jillian Kennedy, Jaekiarah Harden, Maddie Wertz, Hazel Zajack, and Madison Perry helped the Lancers finish 30-2 overall, and now hold the title 'State Champions'!
Season Overview
Throughout the 2024-2025 season, Loyalsock demonstrated exceptional performance, culminating in a remarkable 30-2 record.
Path to the Championship
First Round: Defeated Biglerville, 53-20.
Second Round: Overcame West Catholic, 54-35.
Quarterfinals: Dominated Dunmore, 60-36.
Semi-Finals: Beat Imhotep Charter, 65-46
Championship Game Highlights
In the title game against Shady Side Academy, junior forward Alaina Dadzie contributed 21 points. The Lancers' defense was instrumental in holding Shady Side to just six points in the final quarter, securing the 55-43 victory.
Historical Significance
This championship marks the first state title for the Loyalsock girls' basketball program and the first for any girls' basketball team in Lycoming County.
Final Rankings
Following their championship win, Loyalsock Township was ranked first in the final 2024-2025 Trib HSSN Pennsylvania high school girls' basketball rankings for Class 3A.
